KANSAS CITY, Mo. --- The Tusculum University men's soccer team is ninth in the latest United Soccer Coaches Division II Southeast Region rankings, through matches of Sept. 10.
The Pioneers (3-1-0) defeated King 3-0 on Wednesday and dropped a 1-0 decision to Lenoir-Rhyne in their South Atlantic Conference opener on Saturday. Tusculum was third in the last week's initial rankings.
Limestone (3-0-1) jumped from fourth to first in the region rankings this week, with Coker (1-0-3) dropping from first to second following three consecutive draws. Lincoln Memorial (3-0-1), Clayton State (3-1-0) and Anderson (1-1-0) round out the top five.
Converse (2-1-0) is sixth in the rankings, with Mars Hill (2-1-1), Lenoir-Rhyne (1-1-1), Tusculum and Carson-Newman (2-1) giving the SAC eight of the 10 teams in this week's rankings.
The Pioneers visit Belmont Abbey (2-1-1) on Wednesday at 7 p.m. in the last of five consecutive road matches to open the season. Tusculum hosts Coker on Saturday at 4:30 p.m. in its home opener at Pioneer Field.
