KANSAS CITY, Mo. --- The Tusculum College men's soccer team returned to the National Soccer Coaches Association of America Division II Top 25 this week, checking in at 17th overall for the final poll of the 2016 regular season.

The Pioneers (16-3-0) won three matches to capture the South Atlantic Conference Tournament championship, including double-overtime wins over Mars Hill in the quarterfinals and Lincoln Memorial in the finals. The Pioneers won their record sixth SAC Tournament title and second in the last three seasons, while also earning their first NCAA Division II Tournament bid since 2008.
Four of the six teams participating in this weekend's Southeast Region tournament are in this week's rankings, led by co-number one Wingate (14-1-0), ninth-ranked Pfeiffer (18-2-0) and 22nd-ranked Lander (15-3-0).
Wingate is tied for number one with LIU Post, and is followed by Simon Fraser, Charleston and Lynn in the top five. Rockhurst, Adelphia, St. Edward's, Pfeiffer and UC San Diego make up the remainder of the top 10.
The Pioneers are the third seed in the Southeast Region and will open the NCAA Tournament on Thursday at 7 p.m. against sixth-seeded Lenoir-Rhyne University from Misenheimer, North Carolina. The winner of Thursday's match will play host Pfeiffer in the second round on Saturday at 7 p.m.
