Tusculum first in initial NCAA Division II Southeast Region rankings

INDIANAPOLIS --- The Tusculum College men's soccer team is ranked first in the initial NCAA Division II Southeast Region ranking, which was released Wednesday afternoon.

The Pioneers (12-0-0 overall, 7-0-0 SAC) are followed in the rankings by Wingate, Pfeiffer, Limestone, Lenoir-Rhyne, Lander, Montevallo and Lincoln Memorial. Tusculum owns wins over Pfeiffer (3-2 in overtime), Lenoir-Rhyne (2-1) and Lincoln Memorial (2-0) among their 12 consecutive victories, which is the longest winning streak in program history.

The rankings are the official poll utilized by the NCAA in the championship selection process and will continue to be released each week by the NCAA Division II Men's Soccer Committee up to the NCAA Championship selections.

The Pioneers travel to Carson-Newman for a 7:30 p.m. match Wednesday night, then host Catawba on Sunday at 3:30 p.m. in their final regular-season home game of the season. Tusculum and Wingate will meet in the regular-season finale on Saturday, Oct. 29 at Wingate.
