Men's soccer drops 3-0 decision at No. 3 Pfeiffer

MISENHEIMER, N.C. --- Martim Galvao recorded a goal and an assist as third-ranked Pfeiffer remained undefeated on the season with a 3-0 win over Tusculum on a rain-soaked Wednesday night at Nefko Field. The match was ended with 6:54 remaining in regulation due to lightning.

The Falcons improve to 8-0 overall, while the Pioneers slip to 4-3-1 on the season. Wednesday's victory was also the 400th collegiate win for Pfeiffer head coach Bob Reasso.

Galvao put the home team on the board with his first goal of the season in the 34th minute. Santi Moar tallied the assist on Galvao's goal as the Falcons took a 1-0 lead at the intermission.

Galvao assisted on the next goal as his free kick into the box was knocked in by Jaime Siaj to the top corner in the 61st minute for a 2-0 Pfeiffer lead

The Falcons added their third and final goal of the night as Nathan Regis scored his team-leading 10th goal of the season on a through ball by Moar.

Pfeiffer out-shot the Pioneers by a 22-2 margin as TC was unable to get a shot on frame for the contest.

Tusculum keeper Jorge Alvarez finished the evening with six saves, while Pfeiffer's Nicolas Dulac recorded his second shutout of the season.

Reasso, who is in his third season at Pfeiffer, coached 29 years at Rutgers University and amassed 359 wins with the Scarlett Knights.

Tusculum returns to South Atlantic Conference play this Saturday afternoon as the Pioneers travel to Newberry College for a 3:30 p.m. match at the Smith Road Complex.
