Tusculum Men's soccer listed eighth in NSCAA Region Poll

KANSAS CITY, Mo. --- The Tusculum College men's soccer team is listed eighth in the inaugural 2015 National Soccer Coaches Association of America/NCAA Division II Southeast Region Poll.

The Pioneers (2-0) posted a pair of victories over in-state foes last week to open the season. Tusculum opened with a 3-0 regional victory at King University last Thursday. TC followed that performance with a 4-2 victory against Milligan College on Saturday.

Young Harris is the top-ranked team in this week's regional poll. Limestone is second, followed by Wingate, Pfeiffer, Clayton State, Lincoln Memorial, UNC Pembroke, Tusculum, Francis Marion and Carson-Newman.

Four teams listed in this week's rankings are on the 2015 Tusculum schedule, including No. 3 Wingate, No. 4 Pfeiffer, No. 6 LMU and No. 10 Carson-Newman.

The NSCAA Rankings are an indicator of week-to-week status of qualified programs and in no way should be used as a guide or indicator of eligibility for NCAA championship selection.

The Pioneers are off to the program's first 2-0 start since 2008. Tusculum will put their undefeated record on the line this Wednesday night when they host Lees-McRae for a 7 p.m. contest at Pioneer Field. Tusculum head coach Allen Vital is also shooting for his 200th career victory on Wednesday.
