LOUISVILLE, Ky. --- The Tusculum University men's lacrosse team is listed among the teams receiving votes in the latest United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association Division II Coaches poll, the USILA announced Monday.
Despite taking their first loss of the season on Saturday to Newberry, the Pioneers (7-1, 1-1 South Atlantic Conference) received a vote for the fourth straight week. Tusculum is among 14 teams receiving votes outside the Top 20 this week. Tusculum's 23-17 loss to Newberry on Saturday came despite a conference-record 30 saves from senior goalkeeper Ross Geiger.
Le Moyne (4-0) remains number one in the USILA Top 20, followed by Tampa, Wingate, UIndy and Adelphi in the top five. In addition to Wingate, SAC schools in this week's poll include Limestone in seventh, Lenoir-Rhyne in 14th, Queens in 15th and Newberry in 18th. Anderson is also receiving votes this week along with the Pioneers.
Tusculum will host Lenoir-Rhyne on Saturday at 4 p.m. at Pioneer Field. The Bears are 4-3 overall and 1-1 in the SAC, with each of their losses to teams currently ranked inside the top 10.
