DENVER, Colo. --- Tusculum College men's lacrosse student-athlete Tim Drumtra will be playing for the Colombian National Team at the 2014 Federation of International Lacrosse World Championships. Drumtra will be blogging each day from Denver, providing his thoughts on the experience of playing for a world championship.

We finally won! We went out and played the best game a team could have. We set our minds to win the night before were excited from the minute we stepped onto the field. We finished the job the way we wanted to.
This experience is one of the best any athlete could be
awarded. I was honored not only to play the sport I love, but under
my country's flag. I plan on keeping active with the Colombian team
and hopefully in the next four years, I will be back in the yellow
blue and red! Thank you all for the support and we'll see you back
in Greeneville.

We marched for the world games opening ceremony on Thursday. It was the best experience. We took pictures with the American team and the Canadian team! Marching onto the field we did the salsa! We drew a lot of attention which was awesome! We then watched the USA v. Canada game. Looking forward to getting tournament started on Friday. Go Colombia!

Yesterday was the first time I was able to play and practice with the Colombian National Team. It was a blast to get out there at attack and run the plays. The only downfall is they all speak Spanish and my Spanish is not the best so needless to say, communicating with my new teammates has been a challenge to say the least.. My Colombian coaches have been doing a good job serving as translators so I think I will make it from there.
We moved into our dorms on the Denver University campus.. The weather here is beautiful. Still hot, but very beautiful.. I cannot wait to play on Friday. Thanks for all the support back in Maryland and Tennessee.
GO COLOMBIA!!!!

You would be surprised how happy the team is even though we haven't won a game. My teammates always have a smile on their face and carry themselves with pride for our country. No matter what the score is they grind till the last whistle. It is an honor being able to play along side men like this.
We have played Finland, Mexico, Spain, Argentina, and Thailand. All losses but all learning experiences as well. We are all coming together. Understanding how each other plays. Trying to work out each play. Finding our best offense to run against different defenses. These men all fight for their country. They push themselves harder each game.
We play Costa Rica today on ESPN 3. Hopefully we will get a
W for the homeland! Watch and support us!
