Tusculum finishes 17th at Spring Kickoff Intercollegiate

ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. --- The Tusculum University men's golf team shot a three-round score of 967 to finish 17^th at the 2019 Spring Kickoff Intercollegiate.  The two-day, 54-hole tournament was conducted at the 7,136-yard, par-72 St. John's Golf & Country Club.

The Pioneers completed their second round early Tuesday morning with a team score of 319 and followed it with a final round 331.

Queens University of Charlotte won the team title with a score of 891, edging host Lincoln Memorial by a single shot (892).  Carson-Newman was third with 895, followed by Barton (898), Palm Beach Atlantic (901), Flagler (908), Wingate (916), Coker (920), Mount Olive (920), Hillsdale (922), North Greenville (922), Belmont Abbey (927), Southern Wesleyan (929), Albany State (932), Anderson (936), Arkansas-Monticello (963), Tusculum (967), Mars Hill (978) and Catawba (983).

Coker's Wanjoo Lee captured medalist honors with his three-under par total of 75-67-71=213 winning by two shots over Jonathan Noble of Queens (70-72-73=215).

Freshman Kyle Engelbert carded the lowest score for the Pioneers as he finished with 82-77-80=239 to tie for 69^th place.  Noah Jones and Jeffrey Perez tied for 87^th place with 244 while Liam Sweeney was 90^th with 80-81-84=245.  Matt DiBella rounded out the TU scoring with 78-85-83=246 to place 92^nd.

Tusculum returns to action on Feb. 25-26 when the Pioneers travel to the Hilton Head Invitational.
