Tusculum men's golf receives two commitments

GREENEVILLE, Tenn. --- The Tusculum men's golf team has received two commitments from student-athletes announced Pioneer head Adam Buie.  Committing to the Pioneers are Joss Edwards and Jordan Williams.

Edwards, native of Gloucestershire, England, will be joining the Pioneers in January.  He is a graduate of Hartpury College, a secondary school in England.  He boasts a tournament scoring average of 74.2 including a career low round of 69.  He won the Gloucestershire County Championship with a 36-hole total of 71-74=145.  He also shot a three-under par score of 69 at the Turnbull Cup and the Club Medal.  He also represented his home county teams on the U14, U16 and U18 squads in England.

Williams is a local product who is completing his final season at Greeneville High School.  He works and plays and plays out of Link Hills Country Club so he is very familiar with the Tusculum golf program.  He shot 71 at the TSSAA District Championship in the fall and won two events as a member of the SNEDS Tennessee Junior Tour in 2016.  He finished runner-up at both the Graysburg Hills Invitational (73) and Link Hills Invitational (74) and finished fourth at the Virginian (72).  Williams also works with former All-South Atlantic Conference golfer and Tusculum alum Sasha Catron.

"I am excited to have both of these young men join us. Jordan is a local product that we see often and I have got to watch him play several times," said Buie. "He has improved tremendously working with Sasha Catron and I am sure he will make a great addition for us. Joss is an international guy from England who can contend for playing time in the top-five this spring. It will make for a more interesting mix of talent and comradery to bring in a foreign player to our squad."

Tusculum, located in Greeneville, Tennessee, is affiliated with the Presbyterian Church, USA and is a NCAA Division II member of the South Atlantic Conference.
