Tusculum listed 10th in D2SIDA Region Poll

BRISTOL, Tenn. --- For a third consecutive week, the Tusculum men's basketball team is listed 10th in the D2SIDA Southeast Region Poll.

The Pioneers (5-3, 1-1 South Atlantic Conference) went 1-1 last week opening with a 70-58 league win over Lenoir-Rhyne (#9 team in region) and later dropped a 75-71 loss to Catawba (#4 team in region).  Tusculum is receiving nine total points in a vote of the region's media relations directors.

Lincoln Memorial is the top-ranked team in the region as the Railsplitters received all six first place votes and 60 points.  Queens is second with 54 points, followed by Belmont Abbey (38), UNC Pembroke (37), while King and Lees-McRae are tied for fifth with 33 points each.  Catawba is seventh with 28 points, followed by Augusta (13), Southern Wesleyan (11), Tusculum and Lander to round out the top-10.

The Pioneers return to action this Saturday as they travel to Newberry for a South Atlantic Conference contest at 4 p.m. at Eleazer Arena.
