Donaldson named TSWA Player of the Week

NASHVILLE, Tenn. --- Tusculum University guard Donovan Donaldson has been named the College Basketball Player of the Week by the Tennessee Sportswriters Association (TSWA).  He earns this honor for a second time this season.

The Nashville, Tennessee native averaged 25.5 points per game and shot 55.9 percent from the floor to lead Tusculum to wins over Lincoln Memorial University and Wingate University to close out the regular season.  The perfect week extended Tusculum's winning streak to six in a row as the Pioneers finished fourth in the South Atlantic Conference standings.

Donaldson opened the week with 27 points in TU's 78-76 win over Lincoln Memorial, snapping a 24-game losing streak to the Railsplitters.  He shot 10-of-20 from the floor and also dished out five assists.

The two-time AstroTurf SAC Player of the Week followed with 24 points on 9-of-14 shooting in the Pioneers' 77-65 win over Wingate, completing the season-sweep over the Bulldogs for the first time since 2010 and claiming the No. 4 seed in the upcoming Pilot Flying J South Atlantic Conference Tournament.

Donaldson is averaging a team-best 15.6 points per game (9th in SAC) and also leading the squad with his .420 three-point field goal percentage which is also ninth-best in the league.  He has shot 71-of-169 from beyond the arc this year and is averaging 2.6 treys per game which is fifth in the conference.
