Former Trevecca guard commits to Tusculum basketball

GREENEVILLE, Tenn. --- Donovan Donaldson will be transferring from Trevecca Nazarene and will be attending Tusculum and play basketball for the Pioneers announced TC head coach Nick Pasqua.

Donaldson, a 6-1, 185-pound guard from Nashville, Tennessee, will be a rising junior for the Pioneers this year after playing the last two seasons at TNU.  Last year, he played in 29 games with 26 starts for the Trojans where he averaged 13.0 points, 3.0 rebounds and 2.5 assists per game.  He appeared in 26 games during his rookie campaign and averaged 6.7 points per game and shot 49 percent from the floor.

"We are excited to add Donovan to this class.  He will bring leadership and experience to our lineup," said Pasqua.  "Donovan is very quick with the ball in his hands and can really shoot the basketball.  I look for Donovan to play both guard spots for us next year, and make immediate contributions for us."

Donaldson played for prep coach Rodney Thweatt at Hillsboro High School in Nashville where he averaged 14.5 points, 5.6 assists, and 4.5 rebounds per game for the 24-9 Burros. As a senior he led Hillsboro to the district and region championships and assisted them to a trip to the TSSAA Class AAA quarterfinals.  He was named to the All-Metro team, selected as the District Most Valuable Player and earned All-Region honors.

Tusculum, located in Greeneville, Tennessee, is affiliated with the Presbyterian Church (USA) and is a NCAA Division II member of the South Atlantic Conference.
