Dylan DeBusk commits to Tusculum basketball

GREENEVILLE, Tenn. --- Dylan DeBusk has committed to attend Tusculum College and play basketball for the Pioneers announced TC men's head coach Nick Pasqua.

DeBusk, a 5-10 guard, played his basketball locally at Greeneville High School where he was coached by Brad Woolsey.  During his final prep campaign, he led the Greene Devils to an 18-11 record while earning All-District and District All-Tournament honors.

"I am excited that Dylan has decided to become a Pioneer," said Pasqua.  "He had a very good career at Greeneville High School, and I know he will work extremely hard here at Tusculum.  Dylan will compete at both guard spots for us next season."

He averaged 8.7 points per game, shot 77 percent from the free throw line and led GHS in assists averaging 2.4 helpers per contest.  DeBusk made 37 three-pointers in 2017 while shooting just below 40 percent from beyond the arc.

He garnered District All-Tournament accolades as a junior and was also the 2017 recipient of the 100-Percent Award which is presented by the coaching staff.   He also lettered on the Greeneville football team during his prep career.

He is the son of Doug and Christy DeBusk of Greeneville.  His father, Doug, is a graduate of Tusculum where he was an All-Conference guard for the Pioneers from 1991-1995.  DeBusk scored over 1,000 points and is the program's all-time leader in assists (735), and is a member of the College's Sports Hall of Fame. Dylan is also the nephew of former Tusculum football head coach and athletic director Frankie DeBusk.

Tusculum is affiliated with the Presbyterian Church, USA and is a NCAA Division II member of the South Atlantic Conference.
