MEN'S BASKETBALL LISTED EIGHTH IN NCAA FREE THROW PERCENTAGE

INDIANAPOLIS --- The Tusculum College men's basketball team is ranked eighth in the nation in free throw percentage according to this week's NCAA Division II statistics announced officials Monday afternoon.

The Pioneers are shooting 76.4 percent from the free throw stripe, which is also tops in the South Atlantic Conference. TC is also 24th in the country in three-point field goal percentage (.388) and scoring defense (64 ppg), which are also both league-bests.

Junior guard Kyle Moore is listed in four statistical categories this week. The Gainesville, Fla. native is 18th in the nation in scoring average (21.0 ppg) and three-point field goals made per game (3.1). Moore is also 41st in free throw percentage (.840) and 46th in three-point field goal percentage (.393).

Senior guard Ryan Troutman is leading the team and the SAC in free throw percentage as he is gunning 89.2 percent from the charity stripe. The Mt. Washington, Ky. product is also 11th in the country in assists per game (6.3 apg) and 41st in assist to turnover ratio (2.03).

The Pioneers (17-7, 9-4 SAC) have won nine of their last 10 games and are currently tied for first place in the conference with three league games remaining. Tusculum returns to action on Wednesday as the Pioneers travel to Newberry College for an 8 p.m. league tilt at Eleazer Arena. Tusculum defeated Newberry last month in Greeneville, 72-59.
