Kyle Dickey has been a member of the Tusculum University football coaching staff since 2019 .

The former TU quarterback Kyle Dickey serves as the program's offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach. While on staff, the Pioneers have won two South Atlanitc Conference Mountain Division titles and have finished in the top-four of the conference in all five of his seasons as a coach at his alma mater. TU has posted a 28-21 overall record and 22-15 in league action during his coaching tenture while mentoring 16 All-Conference standouts on offense.

The 2020-21 Tusculum offensive unit generated some outstanding numbers as the Pioneers went 4-1 and claimed the South Atlantic Conference Mountain Division title and posted a thrilling 28-23 win at defending league champion Lenoir-Rhyne as TU won its third SAC Championship. The Pioneers led the league in scoring offense (37.6 ppg), total offense (533.4 ypg) and passing offense (394.2 ypg). TU averaged 23 first downs per contest and converted on third-down 47 percent of the time and 71 percent on fourth down.

He took over as offensive coordinator in 2021 as the Pioneers scored 366 points (33.3 points per game - 2nd in SAC 38th in NCAA II) which is the fifth-highest season total in program history. The offense was a balanced attack with 21 rushing touchdowns and 21 passing TDs. TU finishedthe seaosn third in the league in total offense averaging 400.5 yards per game including a 257.0 passing yards per game (2nd in SAC / 31st in NCAA II).

The following season, the Pioneers went 8-3 in 2022 and finished runner-up in the SAC Mountain Division. Tusculum averaged 30.5 points per game (4th in SAC 50th in NCAA II) and 395.6 yards of total offense (2nd in SAC / 49th in NCAA II). TU also finished second in the SAC averaging 235.2 passing yards per contest (39th in NCAA II).

From 2015-2018, Dickey served on the coaching staff at Brevard (N.C.) High School where he helped the Blue Devils to three State Playoff appearances (2016-2018) including a 2016 conference championship, the program’s first in 10 years.

He served as offensive coordinator in his final three seasons at Brevard, leading BHS to a 27-13 record which included a regional runner-up finish.  His 2016 team averaged 37.2 points per game while amassing 332.3 yards offensively per contest.

Dickey, a native of McDonough, Georgia played at Tusculum from 2011-2014 where he saw action at quarterback, wide receiver and tight end.  He is the only player in program history to record a touchdown pass, catch and rush in a career.

In his 24-game career, he played in 15 games under center where he passed for 1,249 yards with 12 touchdowns and six interceptions. He completed 109 of his 176 attempts for a 61.9 completion percentage which is ranked fourth-best in Tusculum history.

In his senior year in 2014, he led Tusculum to four straight wins to end the season including a 14-10 come-from-behind win at Wingate, followed by a 20-17 overtime win over UNC Pembroke the following week as he completed a 27-yard pass on fourth down for the game-winner.  In his final collegiate game, he rallied Tusculum from a 12-point deficit with 3:29 left in the contest with two TD passes in a 38-35 win at Mars Hill.

Dickey played his prep career at Luella High School in Locust Grove, Georgia where he garnered All-State honors while passing for 3,500 yards and 35 touchdowns.

He was a member of the Tusculum Athletic Director’s Honor Roll while majoring in sports science. He graduated from TU in 2014 with a Bachelor’s of Arts degree and completed his master's degree at Tusculum in 2020.
