Austin Minor was named to the Tusculum University football coaching staff in the summer of 2018.  Minor will mentor the Tusculum running backs while also serving as co-special teams coordinator.

Minor served the previous two seasons on the coaching staff at Eastern Kentucky University. While at the Richmond, Kentucky school he worked with the Colonels’ special teams unit which was ranked first in NCAA-FCS in kickoff return average (27.52 ypr) and second in net punting (41.14 yards per punt). 

He mentored EKU’s LJ Scott who led the Ohio Valley Conference and was third in the nation averaging 30 yards per kickoff return.  The Baxter Springs, Kansas native also coached AFCA All-American punter Keith Wrzuszczak who led the OVC and was sixth in the country averaging 44.1 yards per punt.

In 2016, Minor served as the assistant recruiting coordinator, defensive quality control coach and specialist coordinator at Coffeyville Community College. The Coffeyville defense ranked second in the nation in scoring defense and was also 10th in interceptions and 23rd in sacks.  During his time there, he coached eventual NJCAA All-American punter Cooper Lee who averaged 39.4 yards per punt and recorded a JUCO national record 87-yard punt.  He assisted with scouting reports, film breakdown, monitoring academic progress and assisted the recruiting coordinator.

He earned an associate’s degree in arts at Coffeyville in 2013 while earning All-Conference honors as the long snapper in both JUCO campaigns.  Minor received a bachelor’s degree in general studies at Missouri Southern State University in 2015.  He was a team captain and third team All-Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association with the Lions.  Minor was also a two-time MIAA Academic Honor Roll selection.
