Football Practice Report (Day 4)

GREENEVILLE, Tenn. --- The Tusculum University football team had its practice session during the cool morning hours once again as day four of fall camp has been wrapped up for the Pioneers.

The humidity level hit season highs on Monday as the TU student-athletes continued their preparations for the 2019 campaign and our 24 days way from the September 5 season-opener at Delta State University.

"Once again, I felt today's practice was a very competitive one," said TU head coach Jerry Odom. "Our team is continuing to get after it and are working hard.  We focused a lot on special teams and situational down and distances and got in some reps.  We have to keep plugging away to get better."

The offensive line continues to block well while receivers Tory Ponder and Ajay Belanger looked sharp in Monday's morning practice.

Practice continues for the Pioneers this week as the remainder of Tusculum's fall student-athletes moved onto campus today as the campus is starting to buzz with activity.

This year's opener at Delta State will mark the 16th time in school history that the Pioneers have played a Thursday night contest.  TU owns a 9-6 advantage in those Thursday games.

Tusculum will play six home games this year beginning with a September 14 clash with the University West Alabama in the first-ever meeting between the Pioneers and the Tigers.
