Shippy named TSWA Football Player of the Week

NASHVILLE, Tenn. --- Tusculum University's Jordon Shippy has been named the College Offensive Football Player of the Week as selected the Tennessee Sportswriters Association (TSWA).

Shippy, a junior from Gaffney, South Carolina, rushed for a school record 258 yards in Tusculum's 37-10 win over Limestone College in Friday's South Atlantic Conference opener.  Shippy breaks the previous record of 250 yards achieved by Isaac Robinson in 2015 against Brevard College.

Shippy ran for three touchdowns, which are tied for the fourth-most in school history.  His 279 all-purpose yards on Friday are tied for the fourth-most in the TU record book.  He is leading the conference in rushing, averaging a league-best 125 yards per game.

Shippy was also tabbed the AstroTurf South Atlantic Conference Offensive Player of the Week.
