ROCK HILL, S.C. --- Tusculum quarterback Alex Ogle has been named the AstroTurf South Atlantic Conference Offensive Football Player of the Week announced league officials Monday. Ogle earns this honor for a second time this season.
Ogle, a junior from Hobe Sound, Florida, passed for 257 yards and two touchdowns in leading the Pioneers to a 25-17 upset over 12th-ranked and previously undefeated Wingate. Ogle went 19-of-25 with his TC tosses covering 14 and 22 yards.
Ogle and the Pioneers jumped out to a 25-0 lead in the first half as he recorded four pass plays of 20 yards. He averaged 13.5 yards per completion and had zero interceptions.
On the year, Ogle finished with 2,056 passing yards with 14 touchdowns and seven interceptions.
Tusculum ended its season with a 5-5 overall record and finished tied for fourth in the final league standings with a 3-4 SAC worksheet.
