MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. --- Three Tusculum student-athletes have been named to the 2018 Division II Conference Commissioners Association (D2CAA) Baseball All-Southeast Region Team.

Charles Hall was named the first team utility pitcher while second baseman Daulton Martin and designated hitter Colby Skeen landed on the All-Region second team.

Hall, a junior right-hander from Dumfries, Virginia, made 17 appearances on the mound including nine starts where he emerged as Tusculum's No. 1 starter in the weekend rotation.  He finished with a 4-3 record with a 4.42 earned run average (9th in SAC) in his team-best 73.1 innings pitched (5th in SAC).  He led the Pioneers with 71 strikeouts (6th in SAC) and recorded a pair of saves (T10th in SAC) in his eight relief appearances.

His four victories came in consecutive starts from Mar. 16-Apr. 6 posting wins over Catawba, Anderson, Newberry and Lenoir-Rhyne.  He tossed eight shutout innings with a career-high 11 strikeouts in Tusculum's road win at Catawba.  He followed that effort with 6 1/3 shutout innings in a win over Anderson.  In an elimination game of the SAC Tournament, he tossed the final two innings to earn a save in TC's 5-2 victory over Newberry.  Later in the same day, he started against No. 2 seed Wingate and pitched five strong innings in a no-decision as Tusculum rallied to a 7-2 win over the Bulldogs.

Martin, a sophomore from Lancaster, Pennsylvania, led the SAC with his .413 batting average while his 86 total hits are third in the nation and the second most by a DII left-handed hitter.  The 2018 All-SAC first team choice is 25th in the country in batting average and his seven triples are a league-best and ninth in the nation.  He is 15th in the land in doubles (20), 20th in total bases (132) and 27th in on-base percentage (.500).

His 86 hits are the sixth-most in Tusculum history, while leading the team with 29 multiple-hit games including 10 with three or more hits.  He hit safely in his first 12 games of the season to post a 23-game hitting streak dating back to last year.  The 23-game streak is the fourth-longest in program history and five games away from the school record.

The 2018 NCBWA All-Region first team selection reached base safely in 51 of 52 games this season including the first 44 in a row. Along with reach base in his last 12 outings in 2017, he finished with a school-record streak of getting on-base in 56 consecutive contests.

After just two seasons, Martin has a .399 career batting average which is currently the sixth highest in Tusculum history.  His .489 career on-base percentage is third in the TC record book and is tied for fifth with his 10 career triples.

Skeen, a senior from Powell, Tennessee, finished second on the roster with his .361 batting average in his 39 games (33 starts).  He totaled 43 hits, including eight doubles, two triple, one home run and 29 RBI.

The 2018 All-SAC second team choice recorded an 11-game hitting streak from Mar. 17-Apr. 6 as he went 17-of-40 (.425) during that stretch with 14 RBI.  Skeen recorded a season-high five RBI including a grand slam against Anderson during his 11-game run.  He finished his collegiate career hitting safely in his final seven contests going 11-of-28 (.393).

The Pioneers posted a 25-27 overall record and finished fifth in the conference standings.  Tusculum advanced to the SAC postseason for a 19th straight year and went 2-2 in the league tournament recording wins over Newberry and No. 2 seed and NCAA II Tournament participant Wingate.
