ROCK HILL, S.C. --- Tusculum first baseman Nick Lacina has been named the AstroTurf South Atlantic Conference Co-Baseball Player of the Week.  He earns this honor for the first time in his TC career and shares this week's honor with Bryson Conner of Coker.

Lacina, a senior from St. Paul, Minnesota, accounted for two doubles and two home runs in the Tusculum's three-game sweep over Brevard.  Lacina batted .444, while scoring a team-high seven runs, drove in six RBI and posted a team-best 1.333 slugging percentage.

In Saturday's series opener, he went 2-for-4, including a double and a home run in TC's 16-3 victory over the Tornados.  In game two, he hit another homer and drew a walk as he finished with three RBI in the Pioneers' 17-4 triumph.  In Sunday's 15-2 win, Lacina hit his sixth double of the season and scored three times as Tusculum extended its season-long winning streak to seven.

Lacina is second on the team with his .400 batting average and leads the Pioneers with his .588 slugging percentage.  He has totaled six doubles, three home runs and 20 RBI in his 22 contests.

Tusculum (16-8, 9-3 SAC) will take its seven-game winning streak to Anderson, South Carolina this weekend for a three-game SAC series against Anderson beginning with Friday's 6 p.m. opener.
