Katelyn "Katie" McCullough joined the TU beach volleyball coaching staff as a graduate assistant in the fall of 2019.

McCullough played both indoor and beach volleyball at NCAA Division I University of North Carolina Wilmington for four years. On the hardwood, she racked up 163 kills, 198 assists, 63 service aces, 1138 digs, and 19 block assists in 351 sets. In the sand, she became the program's all-time win leader with 50 victories, including seven over nationally-ranked opponents. McCullough was also named the 2017 Defensive Player of the Year for the Seahawks.

In the community, she volunteered with Habitat for Humanity, helping to build houses for people in need in the Wilmington area. McCullough also spent two-weeks in July 2015 building homes and recreation facilities in Costa Rica. She likewise spent time running sporting events for the North Carolina Special Olympics and actively supports the Boys and Girls Club. 

McCullough spent the 2017 summer as a sand volleyball referee for Dig and Dive. The next summer she worked for Sound Partners in financial planning and data entry, while also being a personal coach/trainer and sales representative at Curves.

A 2019 graduate of UNCW, McCullough completed a business administration degree with a concentration in finance. While being a two-sport athlete, she was on the Dean's List and earned the Chancellor's Academic Award. Her hobbies include drawing and photography.
