Tusculum Beach Volleyball collects fourth-straight USMC/AVCA Team Academic Award

LEXINGTON, Ky. --- The Tusculum University beach volleyball program was among just nine NCAA Division II beach squads to earn the Team Academic Award for the 2022-23 season, sponsored by the United States Marine Corps and the American Volleyball Coaches Association.

The award, initiated in the 1992-93 academic year, honors volleyball teams that maintain a year-long grade-point average of 3.30 on a 4.0 scale or 4.10 on a 5.0 scale. This year, a record 1,333 collegiate and high school programs received the distinction.

Under third-year head coach Jason Morris, the Pioneers posted a 3.53 GPA at the completion of the academic year, including five players with at least one perfect semester. Tusculum went 4-2 on the season against five of the other honorees.
