SAINT LEO, Fla. --- The Tusculum University beach volleyball team falls 4-1 twice on the afternoon, first to Saint Leo, and then to Palm Beach Atlantic.
The Pioneers get a day off before their last tri-match in Florida. Tusculum is set to face the hosting Florida Southern Mocs and Lake-Sumter Lakehawks on Saturday (March 14), beginning at 10 a.m.
Against Saint Leo, it was the No. 3 flight picking up the only win for the third straight match. However, it was the pairing of Arizona Webb and Mabry Ward in the slot, finding victory by scores of 21-17, 22-24, 15-11. Melissa Mazur and Emma Johnson nearly pulled off the three-set win as the top pair, but fell 15-13 in the final frame.
The No. 4 flight of Britney Shawel and Maddie Bass gutted out a three-set win to garner a point for the Pioneers. The duo won 13-21, 21-16, 17-15 in the reverse sweep of their Sailfish opponents.
