Sabrina Reed was appointed as Tusculum College faculty athletic representative by College president Dr. Nancy B. Moody and director of athletics Doug Jones in June 2016.
 
The faculty athletics representative (FAR) at Tusculum is a member of the faculty or administrative staff who is designated by the president to represent the institution and its faculty in the institution's relationships with the NCAA and the South Atlantic Conference.  The FAR is active in maintaining the academic integrity within the athletics program, assisting with the overall student-athlete well-being as well as assists with the institutional control of the athletics program.

Reed, a native of Greeneville, Tennessee, has served as assistant professor in the physical education and sport science department at Tusculum College since spring 2012.  She has instructed in the following courses: Measurement and Evaluation of Human Performance, Sport in Society, Psychological Dynamics of Sport and Exercise, Foundations of Physical Fitness and Wellness and Methods for School Health Teachers among others.

Prior to Tusculum, she served as a graduate assistant instructor and a teaching assistant at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro.  She also taught in the Carter County School System in Tennessee and in Forsyth County School System in North Carolina.

Reed earned her associate degree from Northeast State Technical Community College in 2005 and her bachelor's degree from East Tennessee State University in 2007, where she was a Ronald McNair Scholar.  She later earned her Master of Science degree in sport and exercise psychology at UNC Greensboro in 2008.  She is currently working towards her doctorate of philosophy in education, sport management from Northcentral University which she will complete in summer 2017.
 
She is married to Hunter Reed, who is the assistant general manager of the Greeneville Astros, the Appalachian League baseball league affiliate of the Houston Astros.
