Dan Kontos joined the Tusculum College athletic traininig staff in 2014.

Kontos assists with all aspects of the Tusculum athletic department and the 16 sports its sponsors. He primarily works with the Pioneer men's basketball team and the TC men's and women's cross country teams.

During the 2012-13 academic year, he served as the assistant athletic trainer at University of North Carolina at Greensboro where he worked with the Spartans men's soccer program. He also supervised the UNC Greensboro graduate assistant athletic trainers with volleyball, cross country and track.

He served as an assistant athletic trainer at La Salle University from 2008-2012.  There he was the primary athletic training provider for the sports of men's basketball and women's field hockey.

From 2007-2008, he served on the athletic training staff at Penn State University where he assisted with the medical needs of the Nittany Lions' football prgram.

Kontos served as a graduate assisant athletic trainer at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill from 2005-2007.  He was responsible for the day-to-day care of the UNC men's soccer and wrestling teams while also working at the UNC Campus Heath Physical Therapy/Athletic Training Clinic.

He earned his first undergraduate degree from Virginia Tech in 2001 while majoring in marketing management.  He followed in 2005 by earning his bachelor's of science degree in sport science/athletic training from the University of Florida.

Kontos earned his master's degree in 2007 from the UNC in sport science/athletic training.
