Bobbie Clarkston was named the Athletic Academic Advisor at Tusculum University in August 2017. She was promoted to the post of Assistant Athletic Director for Academics in August 2023.

She is responsible for monitoring student-athlete eligibility for Tusculum’s 23 intercollegiate sports.

Clarkston provides academic advising for all student-athletes while assisting with research, submission and validation of required data for the NCAA, APR and GSR mandated academic reports and compliance reviews.

She served as Coordinator of Student Records at Tusculum from 2005-2011 and was the University’s registrar from 2011-2017.

The Big Stone Gap, Virginia native is a member of the National Academic Advising Association (NACADA) and is a past member of the American Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers (AACRAO), Southern Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers (SACARO), Tennessee Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers (TACRAO).

The 2003 Tusculum graduate has served on numerous committees and panels including: Programs & Policies Committee, Admissions & Standards Committee, Operation Success Team and Tusculum’s Sexual Assault Response Team (SART). Clarkston also served on the University’s QEP Planning Committee and is an active member of the Tusculum Community Choir. In 2022, she was named a recipient of the Going the Extra Mile Award (GEM).
