Cameron Mathis was named to the Tusculum University athletic training staff in August 2018.  Mathis is responsible for the medical treatment and athletic training care and rehabilitation for the sports of men's basketball and cross country.

Mathis joins the Tusculum staff after serving as a graduate assistant athletic trainer at East Tennessee State University from 2016-2018.  While at the Johnson City, Tennessee school, he assisted the head athletic trainer in the sprots of football and track & field.  He also served as the primary athletic trainer for the ETSU cross country and track and field programs during the 2017-2018 season.

In the summer of 2015, he served as an athletic intern at ESPN Wide World of Sports in Orlando, Florida where he was responsible for event coverage of a variety of athletic events including basketball, soccer, football, volleyball, track & field and wrestling.

He is a member of the National Athletic Trainers Association and is a board certfied athletic trainer.  He is a Tennessee State Licensed Athletic Trainer since August 2017 and is also CPR and First Aid certified.

Mathis earned his bachelors degree in athletic training from Georgia Southern University in 2016 and later earned a masters of science degree in sport science and coaching education from ETSU in 2018.
