GREENEVILLE, Tenn. --- Tusculum University right-side hitter Shaun Kampshoff and guard Sydney Wilson have been named the Zaxby's Athletes of the Week.
Kampshoff, a sophomore from Las Vegas, Nevada, accounted for 12 kills and a .429 hitting percentage in Tusculum's 3-0 sweep over Bluefield College. The Coker College transfer added three service aces and one block as he finished the match with 15.5 points.
On the season, Kampshoff is averaging 2.68 kills per set with a .162 hitting percentage.
Wilson averaged 19.0 points per game as the Pioneers defeated Lincoln Memorial 73-59 on Wednesday and lost 53-52 at 23rd-ranked Catawba on Saturday. Against Lincoln Memorial, Wilson finished one point shy of her career high by going 9-for-17 from the field and 5-for-11 from three-point range, while adding four rebounds, two assists and two steals. In the loss to Catawba, Wilson was limited to 18 minutes but shared the team lead in scoring with 11 points on 5-for-9 shooting.
For the week, Wilson shot 53.8 percent (14-for-26) from the field and 6-for-13 from three-point range, and averaged 3.5 rebounds and 1.5 steals per game. Wilson has scored in double figures in nine of the last 10 games and is shooting a career-best 40 percent from the field this season.
The Greensboro, North Carolina native leads the Pioneers in scoring at 14.4 points per game (ninth in the SAC) and leads the team with 26 three-pointers. Wilson, who recently became the 18th player in school history to surpass 1,000 points, ranks fifth in program history with 140 career three-pointers.
