Vujicic, Breen named Zaxby's Athletes of the Week

GREENEVILLE, Tenn. --- Tusculum University soccer student-athletes Nikola Vujicic and Danielle Breen have been named the Zaxby's Athletes of the Week.

Vujicic scored the tying goal in the 82nd minute of a 2-2 draw with Shaw on Wednesday, then scored the winning goal in the 64th minute as the Pioneers beat Wingate 2-1 on Sunday. Vujicic, who came off the bench in both matches, headed home a free kick with 8:06 left to lift Tusculum into the draw with Shaw, then headed in the go-ahead goal with 26:30 remaining in the Pioneers' 2-1 win over Wingate.

The Belgrade, Serbia midfielder and transfer from Houston Baptist is third on the team with three goals in seven matches, scoring on three of his five shots on goal.

Breen extended her shutout streak in goal to three straight matches with wins over Shaw (2-0) and Wingate (1-0), making three saves in the win over Shaw and a career-high 10 stops against Wingate. In the Wingate match, the Pioneers were outshot 26-4 but Breen had seven saves in the first half and three more in the second half to preserve the win over the last unbeaten team in conference play.

The Sicklerville, New Jersey native has fashioned a 0.85 goals against average and a .870 save percentage in more than 317 minutes in goal for the Pioneers this season. Breen has a 3-1-0 record in four starts and would be tied for the SAC lead in save percentage and would rank fourth in goals against average if she met the qualifying standard of playing 33 percent of the team's minutes in goal.

The Tusculum University Athlete of the Week Award is sponsored by Zaxby's, located at 3280 Andrew Johnson Highway in Greeneville.  The Zaxby's Athlete of the Week Award honors one male and one female athlete each week from an in-season sport.
