Woods, Johnson named Bojangles Athletes of the Week

GREENEVILLE, Tenn. --- Tusculum basketball players Peyton Woods and Kasey Johnson have been named the Bojangles Athletes of the Week.  Both earn this honor for a second time this season.                                       

Woods, a junior guard from Monticello, Kentucky, poured in a game-high 27 points in Saturday's 87-73 South Atlantic Conference win at Catawba.  He shot 10-of-19 from the floor with four 3-pointers and five rebounds as the Pioneers' record their first win at Catawba since 2013.  Woods scored 15 points in the opening half as TC raced out to a 46-38 halftime lead.  He is averaging a team-high 15.7 points per contest, which is eighth in the league.                                                   

Johnson, a junior forward from Greensboro, North Carolina, scored 18 points on 7-of-11 shooting, including a three-pointer and went 3-of-3 from the free throw stripe in Saturday's loss to the Catawba Indians.  She hauled in six rebounds to go along with her two steals.  On the season, Johnson leads the Pioneers in scoring (12.8 ppg) and rebounding (6.6 rpg).
