Hartle, Johnson named Bojangles Athletes of the Week

GREENEVILLE, Tenn. --- Tusculum basketball players Zach Hartle and Kasey Johnson have been named the Bojangles Athletes of the Week.                                        

Hartle, junior forward from King, North Carolina, averaged 18.5 points per game in leading Tusculum to a 1-1 record last week.  He averaged 5.5 three-pointers made per game while shooting 64.7 percent from beyond the three-point arc.  He poured in 18 points on his six 3-pointers, including his game-winning trey with 22 seconds left in Tusculum's 86-85 win over Columbus State on Saturday. He went 6-of-8 from 3-point land, while also dishing out four assists and hauling in three rebounds.  He connected on five treys for his team-high 19 points against Lee University on Tuesday.  He also went 2-of-2 from the free throw line.

Johnson, a junior forward from Greensboro, North Carolina, scored 15 points in a pair of games for the Pioneers, including a 78-41 win over Bluefield State on Saturday. Johnson shot 46.4 percent from the field and averaged 5.0 rebounds, 1.5 assists and 1.0 steals per game for the Pioneers, who are off to a 5-1 start heading into South Atlantic Conference play this week.
