Ogle, Locklear named Bojangles Athletes of the Week

GREENEVILLE, Tenn. --- Tusculum quarterback Alex Ogle and basketball guard Lovely Locklear have been named the Bojangles Athletes of the Week.                                      

Ogle, a junior from Hobe Sound, Florida, passed for 257 yards and two touchdowns in Tusculum's 25-17 upset win over 12^th-ranked Wingate Saturday in the Pioneers' season-finale.  He went 19-of-25 with zero interceptions and recorded completions to nine different receivers, including four times of passes over 20 yards.  He threw a 14-yard touchdown pass to Conner Johnston and a 22-yard TD strike to Gary Breuklander as Tusculum jumped out to a 25-0 lead on the 2017 SAC Champions. Ogle earns this honor for a third time this fall.                                                                                                           

Locklear averaged 20.5 points and 4.5 steals per game and led the Pioneers in scoring twice as Tusculum opened the season with wins over Converse and King in the SAC/Conference Carolinas Challenge. The Durham, North Carolina native had 16 points and three assists in 24 minutes of Friday's 89-71 win against Converse, then drilled five 3-pointers and netted 25 points to go along with seven steals in Saturday's 96-60 win over King. The transfer from Gardner-Webb shot 53.3 percent (16-for-30) from the field and went 7-for-14 from three-point range in the wins, while contributing a total of nine steals and five assists.
