GREENEVILLE, Tenn. --- Tusculum quarterback Alex Ogle and women's soccer midfielder Kate Guildford have been named the Bojangles Athletes of the Week.
Ogle, a junior from Hobe Sound, Florida, passed for 282 yards and two touchdowns in leading the Pioneers to a 28-24 come-from-behind win over Mars Hill. Ogle went 15-of-23 with seven of those completions covering 20 or more yards. He went 9-of-10 in the first half alone as he rallied the Pioneers from a pair of 10-point deficits.
On the season, Ogle has passed for 1,349 yards and eight touchdowns and has rushed for another score. He has completed 57 percent of his passes as well. The Pioneers are 3-3 overall and 1-2 in South Atlantic Conference play.
Guildford had two goals and an assist as the Pioneers won two of three matches last week. She assisted on an insurance goal by Payton DeHart in the 64th minute of a 2-0 win over Lees-McRae on Wednesday, then scored two goals in the second half of a 6-0 win over Coker on Sunday
The native of Cromwell, New Zealand leads the Pioneers with nine points (three goals, three assists) this season despite coming off the bench in all 11 matches, helping the Pioneers to an 8-3 overall record and third place in the SAC with a 5-1 league mark.
