GREENEVILLE, Tenn. --- Tusculum cross country runners Zac Branham and Alissa Furches have been named the Bojangles Athletes of the Week.
Branham was timed in 16:23.6 over the five-kilometer Holston Home course, placing seventh overall and second among all freshmen in the event. The Johnson City, Tenn. native was one of three Tusculum freshmen to finish inside the top-15 at the meet, which saw Tusculum finish second overall with 65 points.
Furches earned a fourth-place finish by covering the Holston Home course in 20:54.5 in her first race with the Pioneers. The Greeneville native and graduate of South Greene High School was among five Pioneers that finished in the top 20 in the event. As a team, the Pioneers finished fourth with 65 points.
The Tusculum College Athlete of the Week Award is sponsored by Bojangles, located at 3240 Andrew Johnson Highway in Greeneville. The Bojangles Athlete of the Week Award honors one male and one female athlete each week from an in-season sport.
