GREENEVILLE, Tenn. --- Tusculum College lacrosse players Nate Wade and Savannah Elliott have been named the Bojangles Athletes of the Week.
Wade, a junior from Victoria, British Columbia, tied a program single-game record with his five-goal performance in Tusculum's 23-6 road win at Shorter University. TC scored the first 13 goals of the contests, including four by Wade during the 13-0 run. He was also credited with an assist as the Pioneers posted the second most goals in the program's four-year history.
Elliott, a junior from Oshawa, Ontario, recorded a Tusculum and South Atlantic Conference record 10 goals in a 19-13 victory over Converse College last Thursday. She set another school record when she accounted for 12 of the team's 19 points against the Valkyries. The 2016 CoSIDA All-District honoree posted a shot percentage and shot on goal percentage of 90.9 percent in the contest. Elliott leads the SAC with 14 goals, 16 points, and 16 shots so far this season.
The Tusculum College Athlete of the Week Award is sponsored by Bojangles, located at 3240 Andrew Johnson Highway in Greeneville. The Bojangles Athlete of the Week Award honors one male and one female athlete each week from an in-season sport.
