GREENEVILLE, Tenn. --- Tusculum College placekicker Will Tommie and right-side hitter Rachel Garnett have been named the Applebee's Student-Athletes of the Month for November.

Tommie, a sophomore from Greenwood, South Carolina was near perfect in his two outings for the Pioneers in November as he recorded a team-high 19 points in a pair of Tusculum victories.  He missed his first field goal try to start the month, but connected on four in a row to end the season.  He also went 7-for-7 on extra points and averaged 63.9 yards on his 13 kickoffs, with two going for touchbacks.

In TC's 38-28 road win at defending South Atlantic Conference champion Catawba, Tommie connected on all five of his extra point tries and made a 26-yard field goal as he finished with eight points.  He matched a career-high with his 11 points in Tusculum's 31-30 overtime win over Carson-Newman.  The 2015 All-SAC honoree made all three of his field goal tries including a 46-yarder, matching the longest in his collegiate career.  He also made both his extra point attempts and was named the AstroTurf SAC Special Teams Player of the Week.

Garnett, a senior from Cincinnati, Ohio, posted a team-best .353 hitting percentage for the month. The two-time All-SAC selection averaged 2.43 kills and totaled 51 kills, six digs, seven blocks and accounted for 55.5 points in her six matches for November.

In TC's 3-0 sweep over Newberry, Garnett posted a .533 hitting percentage as she finished with nine kills, one error in 15 attacks. She also contributed three blocks in the win.  She followed with 11 kills and a .290 hitting percentage at Coker.  She capped her stellar collegiate career with 12 kills and a .435 hitting percentage against Wingate in the SAC Quarterfinal.

Garnett ends her collegiate career with 1,069 kills, which are the sixth-most in program history. Garnett also finishes ranked with her .241 career hitting percentage (8th in TC history), 2,968 career attacks (8th in TC history) and 443 career sets played (9th in TC history). She finishes her TC career with 1,159.5 points. An outstanding student, Garnett was also named to the 2016 CoSIDA Academic All-District first team.
